Mass. now requires Liquor Liability insurance for all establishments that have liquor pouring licenses. The new law will take effect on August 28. The law requires the establishment to carry minimum limits of $250000 per person for bodily injury and $500000 per claim. Our experience shows that the cost to increase these minimum limits from $250000/$500000 to $1000000 is very nominal. There are server training program such as TIPS that can help owners and managers reduce the likelihood that patrons will be over served.
